Studio practice

A contemporary impression of the familiar.

Carisa Mitchell works from memory, observation, and the emotional residue of a place. Her paintings move between landscape and abstraction, allowing color and gesture to carry the scene forward.

The result is work that feels immediate yet enduring—made to live with, and to reveal something new over time.

Artist statement

My work explores the dynamic dance of light, atmosphere, and time. Rooted in classical oil painting traditions and interpreted through a loose, contemporary impressionist lens, each painting is built intentionally using rich pigments and premium archival structures. By balancing atmospheric depth with expressive, energetic brushwork, I strive to capture the fleeting warmth and sensory essence of a single moment, transforming raw color and texture into enduring, museum-quality investments for the contemporary collector.
